Now, why do we emphasise that we exist? If you were to go back to the search engine pages where you found us, you’d be surprised to know that many of the ‘stair lifts companies’ that you may have seen were simply data collecting companies with web sites who may not even be in the UK, often do not have a telephone number –  and sometimes no address.   Their function, is to collect your data and sell it to genuine stairlift companies for a fee and/or a commission. This service may work – but it is not really clear which path you are taking or who you are dealing with. Amazingly, a company can be on page one of the search engines that is not even legally trading any more! We are at the top of page one of Google because we have earned it(a detailed explanation of how follows) All this is really a minefield and so far, the world of the web is still very much an unregulated one – so be careful.

Secondly – apart from installing our own stairlifts, we are agents for nearly all the top brand chairlift companies as well as many smaller local ones, which may be near to you.  

Our aim is to discuss with you initially your needs – and arrange either for a direct Castle Comfort installation – or to organise one (or more) quotes from, in our opinion  the best sources. We work intensively in the  stairlift industry and know which manufacturers have the best offers and what is the most suitable type of lift for you, within your budget. There are many factors involved – your location, the type of lift, new or reconditioned, platform, hinged, perch etc. There are also rental schemes available upon which we can advise you. You may even be entitled to a grant or funding from an unexpected source.  We can support you through all of this in a jargon free and easy way, so that you end up with the right lift for you, at the right price.

Why not go direct yourself to these companies?

You can of course. But with us you’ll  get a choice and be put in the right direction, therefore avoiding the possible minefield of confusion. We’ll give you the answers to questions that you didn’t even know you need to be asking.

You’ll probably only ever buy one stairlift – so you are not familiar on to how to go about it. Remember when you bought your first car? You were probably ‘green’ and made mistakes. We’ll make sure those similar mistakes are avoided when buying your one and only stairlift.

The stairlift firms know and respect how we work and, above all, whilst the firms we deal with are enthusiastic and keen to win your business – they are professional and will understand your decision may not be made quickly. That decision should be made when you are ready and happy with everything.  Importantly, from the manufacturers’ point of view, they have not had to pay for hugely expensive TV or press advertising to offer you their services. They have found your business, directly as a result of Castle Comfort’s envied position at the top of page one of *Google. Also, we are on your side totally. We are here to serve you. Should anything appear to go wrong, or not go as smoothly as it should with the service or care from any of our affiliate companies- just tell us, and it will be sorted out.  * Why are we, without a paid advertisement – at the top of Google?

It would take us just as long to answer that question(some ten years) as it has to get there. But briefly – search engines have their rules and principles – called, for the technical, algorithms. They change them all the time. Essentially, it goes on experience, reputation and how many others are happy to be associated and endorse us. The list is endless – health care providers, housing associations, councils, government bodies, charities, etc, etc.   We believe that when a business gets to the top with a free listing –  Google actually checks and monitors it personally with its staff in Ireland, not just by a robot.  Therefore, the credentials have to be right – as ‘the mother of search engines’ strives to be (and probably already is) the world’s number one provider of genuine, useful and valuable information.

 ** Why do we do it?

Quite a few reasons. First we make money and nobody begrudges that – as we  are a successful business that has helped many other people like you. (If you haven’t seen the video of Keith our founder and MD go to it now and you’ll see how it all started) The biggest chunk of our profits comes from the provision of products other than stairlifts i.e. special chairs and beds. So when folk get to know us through our arranging of their stair lift-  it is common, in fact usual, to come to us for an adjustable bed or riser recliner.

In the case of chairlifts, we receive a commission from the manufacturer on completion. This funds the maintenance of our websites, gives us a profit as stated and importantly, enables us to continue the existence of the Castle Comfort Good Deeds fund. Please take a few minutes to study the fund here on Wikipedia and meet here some of the people who have been appreciative of this fund. The company has always had a policy of putting back a lot into the communities from where the business comes – and not just because it helps the needy.
